Todd's Bio

Todd is an Artist and General Contractor. He Designed created, and constructed all that you see in these examples of his companies work. His work has been featured in the Seattle Homes magazine, and Cover article of Audio Video Interiors September 2003 Issue. He is an Artist who has been building things his whole life working with wood, steel, plaster, casting bronze, glass, casting resins, mold making, fiber optics, fabrics, paints, and many more materials.

Born in Northwestern Montana, Todd grew up sixth in a family of ten in a little town called Lakeside. Growing up on Flathead Lake meant being outside enough to really get attuned to nature. All summer long there were brilliant days full of light and wildlife. In the fall a blast of glorious color just as the blanket of snow swept down the mountain ranges that ringed the valley. The profusion of color and form within the flora and fauna of his early summers stays with him and strongly influences the shapes and colors of his designs. In the winter there was a lot to do since he loved ice skating, skiing, and going to movies. It was at the movies that Todd was first introduced to that wide, wide world outside his sweet cocoon. Elvis was big when Todd was little and his movies would play at the Liberty Theater as a double feature with Jerry Lewis for about two bits.

In one memorable scene from a Jerry Lewis Movie Jerry improvised with back stage materials like paint to create a top hat and tails to gain entry to the seating gallery where the girl he was sweet on was. This opened up a whole world of possibilities for Todd. He went right home and found some paint and painted his shoes blue. If you missed them the Elvis movies were corny to be sure. They were more like Broadway shows than the mega million dollar location extravaganzas of today. They had Music, Girls, Action, and Technicolor, all within scenes and sets that were boiled down to focus your attention towards the star.

These fabricated scenes fascinated Todd and thus began his quest to see, understand and remember as much architecture as possible. Todd has developed a talent for remembering interesting aspects of furniture, rooms, buildings, cityscapes you name it. These images percolate within his imagination along side the memories of nature's shapes and colors to emerge in new configurations.

Todd believes that movies are the dominant art form of our time and that theaters are the galleries for this art. His theater creations stand as a testament to his love of movies and his unique blend of conceptual imagination, artistic talents and, construction expertise.
